![]() Hello form The Soul girls!
The other day one of our first customers came in for a big bowl of our all-you-can-eat Jambalaya, and after licking his plate clean, told us a story of his trip to New Orleans about a year ago. While sampling a bowl of Jambalaya at one of the local joints, the waitress inquired as to how his meal was. "Not bad," he remarked, "but it's not as good as where I come from." Which part of the south did he call home, She asked. "Actually," he answered, "I'm not from the South. I'm from Everett, Washington." "Oh?" she quipped, "let me guess...ALLIGATOR SOUL?" then turned heel and stormed off. Needless to say this story made Chef Ryan and the Soul crew very happy.
June 9 2005 Hey Ryan, Sandy and I want to "THANK YOU" for one of the most memorable times of our lives. The wedding we had at the Alligator Soul restaurant exceeded our expectations beyond our wildest dreams. Your Staff one of which was Annie, did a fantastic job. The decorations you guys put up were perfect in every way. The food, Sir Chef Ryan, (King of the six layer bread pudding wedding cake) was unbelievable as usual and the Band Slim Pickens was spectacular. Thank you again for making what is usually a special night when people get married, but this was a dream that became reality when we stepped through your door. With Love, Mark and Sandy May 11 2006 Hello, Just wanted to let you know my husband, daughter and I ate at your restaurant last month, and it was delicious! It is true southern, Nu-Awlins cooking. My husband and I were born and raised in Baton Rouge, La, however, we have been living in Anacortes, Wa, now for 24 years. I am still a true Southerner and still cook like a southerner. My husbands parents are from New Orleans, and New Iberia, true cajun people. Broussard is our last name. Can't get more Cajun than that. My parents are from Lavonia, and Ponchatula. So we have roots deep in La. I have inherited my southern techniques from my Mother in Law and my Mother. Both awesome cooks. We've been to lots of restaurants up here in the Northwest, that claim they serve a southern/cajun food dish, but it usually is horrible and I would not feed it to my DOG. But your restaurant passed with flying colors! It is wonderful, and I have told so many others about your place. Just wish your restaurant was not quite so far away. I would like to frequent it more often. Tonight, I am cooking red beans and rice, and fried catfish. I cook southern all the time, and bring back foods each time we go down to visit our families. I have a freezer full of crawfish tails, hoghead cheese, boudin, and filet catfish. My husband just got back from there and brought back my camilla dried red beans, and a cooler packed with our seafood!. Just had to write ya! Thank you so much for having your restaurant and representing the "real" southern dishes! Patsy May 15 2006 Just a note to tell you of our experience last week... It was a warm day my husband and I had been working very hard with the portable saw mill we own. It was the end of the day and cooking was the last thing on my mind. We dirty with our work clothes and stumbled into your restaurant. Our waiter greeted us at the door and got us settled in. I believe his name was eric..I remember how kind he was, he was so helpful at choosing a great beer, a fantastic appetizer, and then brought us a sample of another appetizer. I was so hungry and the food danced off our tongue. It was so wonderful, Mussels and bread with an aromatic and lovely broth. The evening was so good. I have told so many people of how wonderful the crayfish was and the bread pudding. The music was so relaxing. I felt like I took a mini vacation. My hats off to you and your staff. We will be back. Sincerely Colleen and Paul August 21 2006 My Husband, 10 year old daughter and I were in your establishment last week. We came in for dinner and we were more the surprised. We expected the atmosphere and were not disappointed. The band was good and the feeling of the 'place' was just right. Food was excellent. The oatmeal stouts were enough to make a meal of themselves. There is nothing like a good and rich dark brew. But what I really want to bring to your attention is the wait staff. Your girls were on top of everything. I believe they are a Kirsty? And a Meghan. I could be mistaken and I probably am. I am most terrible with names. A petite red head and a much taller slender brunette with short hair. They were exquisite in their attitudes, service and competency. The only thing to outshine their performance were their never ending smiles. We love the food & service. We will be back Sarah, James & Beca August 27 2006 Just ate at your place and it was great!! Friendly staff, great music, we will come back for sure!! Mark and Jeannie September 5 2006 We're very excited to be visiting your wonderful restaurant again (next Sat 9/16/06). I wanted to pass on that I had a first-date at your place, w/my adorable b/f last December, and we had an incredible, very memorable night thanks to the outstanding amazing food -- every scent and taste stopped us in our tracks, and one of the chefs (very friendly, very nice!) personally came over to meet and talk with us, and to let us sample a special dessert. We loved the entire Soulcrew - very charming and fun; and the music was phenomenal (great musician on drums that night)! We felt well taken care of by everyone, and that it was a very unique, unforgettable experience. We tell everyone we know how great this place is! We look forward to visiting you again. This time, I'm bringing my family and my b/f's kids, and of course my b/f again for his upcoming Bday. I love your website. I printed out the menu, and I'm pretty sure my family will be drooling over it until Saturday! All the best, K. B. |
